In December 1991, Church St Health and Fitness began operating as a boutique studio for the bayside suburbs of Melbourne with one of its foundation staff members, Robert Di Pastena.
Paul Kinghorn and Mark Greene in 1994 headed the business and developed a strong club experience, seeing personal training sessions become a popular form of exercise delivery as well as group training such as circuit classes.
1998 saw the Club take a change that would set the course for years to come with Dean Gleeson, Greg Moody and David Sierakowski taking over the business.
In recent times Anthony Ciconte has been welcomed into the partnership providing business leadership and fresh energy. Throughout the 20 years of operation thousands of members have been well catered for in pursuing their optimum fitness.

Robert Di Pastena
Robert has been a personal trainer for over 20 years. He is an exceptional motivator who is respected by staff and in particular, his clients. He trains clients in general fitness, strength training, body toning and shaping programs and has realistic nutritional knowledge. His exercises are always varied and challenging, he holds a black belt in taekwondo and is also a trained boxing instructor. Combined with his exceptional motivation he incorporates boxing and abdominal core strengthening exercises to further the conditioning of his clients, your first Personal Training Session is complimentary.
Michael has been working at Church Street Health and Fitness Club since June 2007 after completing a Bachelor of Human Movement at the University of Tasmania back in 2005 and then becoming a qualified personal trainer. He has a strong sporting background in which he played soccer for over 14 years as well as being an assistant coach for several junior teams, along with playing other various sports. Michael can help provide you with the motivation and knowledge required to obtain your specific fitness goals and improve your general wellbeing.
Chris is an experienced trainer versed in advanced training techniques. Whether your goal is weight loss, fat loss, boosting energy levels, gaining strength, fitness training or simply feeling better about yourself, Chris can help you get where you want to be. You can expect the training sessions to include weight, interval training, suspension training and assisted stretching and cool down. If you like, Chris is also an experienced kick boxer, and always happy to take out the pads and take you through a few rounds of boxing drills to help you burn those calories.
